Black Friday ebike specials - $100 to $800 price drops
Ebikes have been a part of my life for six years and I continue to purchase new ones. Now is the PRIME time to pick up an ebike and enjoy it for years.
I’ve been riding trains to and from work since 1995 and I have embraced that form of transportation. I currently ride the Sounder train to and from Seattle, but there are still 7 miles a day that I need to travel to and from the train station. Six years ago I purchased my first ebike, a Rad Power Bikes RadCity, and love that I mostly drive just on the weekends.
Ebikes really took off after I started riding and thanks to my role at ZDNET I was able to evaluate ebikes as a part of my job. This has exposed me to many brands and many types of ebikes with the current focus on fat tire bikes I am enjoying on trails and gravel roads.
If you have been thinking about whether or not to pick up and ebike, NOW is the time to place your order with same fantastic Black Friday and end of year sales. Here are deals from some of the brands I have tested over the past six years.
Lectric eBikes
There are a few brands that I have come to enjoy and highly recommend. One of my favorites because of the affordable price, high quality, and local support is Lectric eBikes. Here are some special offers currently available, but also check out the website since a bunch of accessories are also on sale:
Lectric XP Lite - $749. This has to be my absolute favorite bike to ride, in terms of just plain fun. It doesn’t have the longest battery life, it isn’t carrying a ton of cargo, and it doesn’t have any gears. It has a throttle and pedal assist. It takes me back to the BMX days of my youth and is a blast to ride. The price is just $749 and Lectric is also throwing in the Carry Package ($147 value). Go buy this bike NOW!
Lectrix XPeak - $1,299. This new fat tire ebike isn’t available yet, but after traveling down to Phoenix to visit the Lectric folks I placed my order on the first day of the pre-order period and cannot wait to ride the bike in January. In addition to the $1,299 price, Lectric upgrades offered for free include the Starter Package ($276 value), Cargo Package ($177 value), and RST Suspension Fork ($400 value). I already received my Cargo Package and now just need a bike to mount the gear to.
Lectric XP 3.0 - $999. If you are looking for a bike that carries you for long distances and can do it all for less than $1,000 then this is definitely one to consider. It now has hydraulic brakes and Lectric is even throwing in the Go Package ($177 value) and Comfort Package ($129 value).
Lectric XP Trike - $1,499. I have never ridden this one, but if you are looking for the three wheel form factor then this is a great sale. In addition to the $304 discount in price, Lectric is offering the Cargo Package ($177 value), Support Seat ($39 value), and Ready Package ($88 value) for free.
Lectric XPedition - $1,349 and $1,599 (dual battery). I’ve tested this one and this is a beast of a cargo bike that can carry just about everything. In addition to the $544/$594 reduction in price, Lectric is offering the Essentials Package ($138 value), Load it Up Package ($268 value), and Ready Package ($88 value) for free. WOW!
Lectric XPremium - $1,599. I never tested this one and am not sure exactly where it fits into the host of bikes. The sale price is $246 off and Lectric includes the Set Package ($117 value) and Comfort Bundle ($129 value).
Velotric
Velotric bikes are high quality bikes that are also available at reasonable prices. They have attractive colors and are some of the most powerful bikes I have ridden. Sale prices range from $100 off to $600 off so check these out.
Velotric Discover 1 - $1,199. The company is offer $400 off on this bike, making it a great deal for commuters. This was the first Velotric bike I tested and it is a joy to ride.
Velotric Nomad 1 - $1,399. You can enjoy $400 off on this excellent fat tire ebike. I tested this one at my daughter’s place in Colorado and it is absolutely perfect for gravel trails, riding in the snow, and taking on the wild of the west.
Velotric T1 - $1,499. The T1 is my primary daily commuter bike because it is light and easy to carry up and down the stairs at the Sounder train station. It doesn’t even look like an ebike, but it has pedal assist to help you out. It even has a mount that is perfect for attaching a Garmin bike computer.
Velotric T1 ST - $999. This ebike is similar to the T1 and includes Apple Find My capability. It’s a cool bike available in two colors and this is a great $500 discount.
Velotric Go 1 - $1,299. This is a fairly compact utility bike that helps you pack lots of gear. It comes in a couple of attractive colors and is $500 off during this sale.
Velotric Package 1 - $1,599. The Packer 1 is Velotric’s cargo ebike and it is $400 off during this sale until 30 November.
Urtopia
One of the most technical bikes I have ever tested and one that is a joy to ride is the Urtopia Carbon 1. It is a carbon fiber bike with a Gates belt drive and although it can’t get me to the top of the hill it is a fun bike to ride. Urtopia has expanded its collection of bikes quite a bit since I tested the Carbon 1 so check out these Black Friday and holiday sales.
Urtopia Carbon 1S - $1,999. This model is similar to the Carbon 1 that I tested, but it has a 350W motor and a Shimano 7-speed system that I could certainly use to tackle the hills around my house. This sale ends in just over two days and is $800 off the regular price. If you have been thinking about the Carbon 1S then this is the time to pull the trigger.
Urtopia Chord - $1,499. This was the successor to the Carbon 1 and it is a lovely bike with lots of technology and power. It is a comfortable commuter bike with an aluminum frame and weight of just 46 pounds.
Fiido
One of the coolest folding bikes is the Fiido X and I enjoyed riding that all over in Colorado. I am currently testing the new Fiido Titan fat tire bike and it is so new it is not eligible for a Black Friday special. Check out these deals though.
Fiido X - $1,299. Fiido is offering $500 off of this sleek folding bike. It has a unique battery in the seat post with a numeric keypad security system too.
Fiido E-Gravel - $1,1199. This ebike is tough to differentiate between a standard road bike and the $600 reduction is price is nice for commuter.
Other Fiido bike sales from $100 to $300 off.
Cyrusher
Cyrusher has a host of ebike styles, many with bold colors and lots of power. Its Black Friday sales reduce the price of its bikes $200 to $800 so check out the offerings.
